Virtual Auction

The purpose of the Waterbird Society's silent auction is to raise money for students, Early Career Researchers, and scientists outside of North America to travel to the Florida meeting in 2023. The 2022 Auction will be online and accessible from your computer or from your phone, using this link. You can start donating now and you can log on to the auction site to view what has been donated.

The 2022 Auction bidding itself runs from 08:00 am EDT on 01 October to 11:59 pm on 05 November.

Some details to note after clicking the link above:

  • To view the auction and bid, you need to Register.
  • If you have not registered yet, you will be asked to do so. You will see "Register to Bid" at the top right corner of the page under the Waterbirds 2022 Logo. If you have already registered, you will be taken directly to the Bid Page.
  • After you register, check the Terms & Conditions box and you will be taken to a page to input your credit card information. Once this is filled in, you will be taken to the Auction page and will be able to start bidding ("place bid").
  • When you bid on an item, you will receive an email or text that lets you know your bid has been registered. If someone outbids you, you will be sent a notification of that. You can then return to the item and bid again, just like an in-person auction.
  • If you are the high bid at closing at 23:59 (11:59 pm) 05 November, the item will automatically be assigned to you and your credit card will be charged. The donor will then be notified by the Auction Committee and will contact you for where to send it.

If you missed the call for donations, you can continue to donate until 02 November 2022. So – everyone please periodically check the auction site for new items.

Thank you! We are looking forward to raising more funds than we ever have at in-person auctions.
